Toni Ellwand
Brief info

Toni Ellwand has been a professional actress since 1984 when she received her equity card at the Stratford Festival in John Hirsch’s production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM. Since then, Toni has performed in theatre in western Canada, for the Globe Theatre in Regina and for Theatre for a Young Audience in Winnipeg. Toni has also worked extensively over the years in Toronto and vicinity in such plays as Dario Fo’s THE OPEN COUPLE, ESCAPE FROM HAPPINESS, 9 PARTS OF DESIRE, BETWEEN PANCHO VILLA AND A NAKED WOMAN at Theatre Aquarius in Hamilton, to IN GABRIEL’S KITCHEN at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre.
Toni has been in numberous T.V. films, episodics, and features such as the mini-series, Marilyn (Lifetime) Hannibal, her re-curring role on BOMB GIRLS, FORGET & FORGIVE, CRACKED, KING, THIS IS WONDERLAND, REGENISIS and features such as DR. CABBIE and BLINDNESS.
Toni has also written, acted and produced several of her own plays: LA DONNA IMMOBILE, CAUSE UNKNOWN and THE MUMMY FILES. As well as workshopping, producing and starring in CIAO BABY, based on the poetry of Gianna Patriarca.

Toni has also been published in a book of short stories called, CURAGGIA-WRITINGS BY WOMEN OF ITALIAN DESCENT.
Toni also directed husband Greg Ellwand in his original production of GREG ELLWAND’S BREAD presented at the 2012 Toronto Fringe Festival and THE CONVERSATION for Lab Cab Festival Parkdale, this past summer.
